Venture capital firm Sage Partners will appoint former Atinum Investment managing director Park Eun-su as co-CEO.

According to the VC industry on the 28th, Sage Partners recently tapped Park Eun-su, former managing director and head of operations at Atinum Investment, as the new co-CEO. Park is expected to serve alongside founders Lee Gi-ha and Kim Gwang-rok as co-CEOs starting next month.

Park, the new chief, joined Atinum Investment (then Hanmi Venture Capital) as part of its first open recruitment class and was regarded as a quintessential one-club man in Korea's VC industry. In March, after 29 years, Park left Atinum Investment and chose Sage Partners as a second VC house.

Park, the new chief, is expected to take on the Korea head role overseeing fund operations and management, post-investment portfolio management, and risk management. Park is also expected to lead fundraising for Fund III, which Sage Partners recently launched.

Park, the new chief, is particularly known as the person who first introduced to Korea's VC industry the concept of RM (Relationship Management), which oversees and manages relationships with limited partners (LPs). Sage Partners set a goal to form a new venture investment fund of around 300 billion won.

Sage Partners is a cross-border VC with offices in the United States and Seoul, formed in 2018 by combining Silicon Valley VC Sage Partners and Korea's first accelerator (AC), Primer. It began as Primer Sazze and later changed its name to Sage Partners.

Park, the new chief, said, "Sage Partners has grown rapidly by supporting the global growth of Korean founders and broadly backing overseas expansion by domestic portfolio companies," adding, "I will join Sage Partners at this stage of growth and create new opportunities."
