KCGI Asset Management said on the 27th that to mark Children's Day, it will invite teens enrolled in its junior fund and hold a variety of events, including a mock investing experience and performances.
The event will be held May 9 at the Yeongdeungpo TCC Art Center for 35 KCGI Asset Management junior fund subscribers (grades 1–12) accompanied by new customers (grades 1–12) and their guardians.
Events such as financial education, a mock investing experience, and a musical performance have been prepared, and applications can be made on the KCGI Asset Management website.
The mock investing event is a simulation in which participants select investment targets and invest using virtual funds. As a musical performance for teens, theater troupe Narubin's "Buddy Buddy" is scheduled. The work portrays teens wandering amid academic stress and conflicts in friendships as they come to understand one another through music and become friends.
KCGI Asset Management launched the KCGI Junior Fund in June 2017 to help prepare children's future funds through long-term investing and to plan for a more prosperous economic life. As of the 24th, the fund's net assets stood at 180 billion won, the second largest among children's funds launched in Korea.
The fund's recent returns are 51% over one year, 77% over three years, and 74% over five years, and it pursues a strategy of boosting long-term returns by investing most assets in growth stocks. The primary countries of investment are the United States (80.7%), Korea (14.5%), and Taiwan (4.07%).
KCGI Asset Management has been inviting customers enrolled in its junior fund every summer and winter vacation, Children's Day, and Christmas to run a variety of financial education programs for children and teens.
