Since the launch of the Financial Services Commission, a female senior civil servant has been appointed for the first time.
According to the financial authorities on the 26th, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) on the 24th promoted Deputy Director Lee Seok-ran to senior civil servant (Director General) and dispatched Lee as director general of the Social and Economic Bureau at the Government Joint Anti-Corruption Promotion Unit under the Office for Government Policy Coordination.
Since 2008, when the Financial Services Commission (FSC) was launched, this is the first time a female senior civil servant has been appointed. Director General Lee served as the FSC's first female public relations team leader in 2015.
Born in 1977, Director General Lee graduated from Ewha Foreign Language High School and Yonsei University with a degree in business administration, then entered public service by passing the 44th higher civil service exam. At the Financial Services Commission (FSC), Lee served as head of the Inclusive Finance Division, Industrial Finance Division, Financial Innovation Division, and Capital Market Investigation Coordination Division, and was most recently dispatched to the Korea Institute of Finance.
