Hana Securities and Hana TI said on the 21st that they carried out a coastal plogging community service activity with employees and their families in the Yeongjongdo area of Incheon.
The activity was organized as part of Hana Financial Group's ESG management practices. In particular, it was planned to help employees and their families reflect on the importance of protecting the marine environment and to spread a culture of practicing environmental protection in daily life.
The activity was carried out with Incheon Green Union, which has been steadily engaged in preserving the marine, mudflat, and urban ecosystems in Incheon and in environmental protection efforts.
Participants walked along the Yeongjongdo coastline and collected various trash washed up on the beach, including waste plastic, PET bottles, vinyl, and pieces of Styrofoam. They also cleaned up trash left around coastal trails and embankments, conducting cleanup activities to prevent marine pollution.
An employee who took part said, "Through this activity, I newly learned that such a wide variety of species and marine ecological environments coexist on Yeongjongdo in Incheon," and noted, "By seeing on site the impact that thoughtlessly discarded trash has on ecosystems, I was able to once again feel the importance of improving the marine environment and conserving biodiversity."
Meanwhile, Hana Securities and Hana TI have been practicing the value of sharing since 2024 by conducting activities together such as volunteering at child care facilities. Going forward, the two companies plan to continue expanding ESG management through community service activities carried out with local communities.
