KCGI Asset Management said on the 13th that Chief Executive Cho Won-bok joined the "relay campaign to eradicate illegal cyber gambling among teenagers."
Through the campaign, CEO Cho said, "For teenagers, the future of the Republic of Korea, it is more important than anything to escape the temptation of gambling and establish a sound financial mindset," and emphasized, "Illegal cyber gambling targeting teenagers is an urgent task that our society must solve together."
Hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, the campaign is a public-interest effort organized to raise awareness of the seriousness of illegal gambling targeting teenagers, which has been spreading recently through online and mobile platforms, and to foster a social atmosphere of prevention. Participants deliver the message, "Illegal cyber gambling that targets teenagers is a scam crime you can never win," and then designate the next person to join.
Cho joined the campaign after being designated by Kim Byung-chul, vice chair and CEO of Hanyang Securities. As the next participant, Cho recommended Bae Jae-gyu, CEO of Korea Investment Management.
KCGI Asset Management explained that since 2018 it has consistently provided junior finance education and, even before joining this campaign, has worked to help teenagers form sound economic awareness. It is also managing related funds to support children's long-term asset building and encourage proper investment habits, and through various education programs such as children's economics classes and reading management reports, it is helping teenagers learn the value of healthy "investment."
