PwC Customs and Trade Services said on the 10th that, together with the Samil PwC Academy, it will host a special practical lecture titled "Foreign exchange, tariffs, and the Harmonized System (HS) for international unified product classification with experts from PwC Customs and Trade Services."
The event will be held three times in total on the 29th and 30th and on the 11th of next month at Beyond Hall on the 3rd floor of the Taepyeong-ro Building in Jung-gu, Seoul.
With the United States reinforcing protectionism and changes in trade policy represented by "Trump tariffs" following one after another, a high exchange-rate trend has persisted. In this situation, the possibility that Korea's tariff authorities will strengthen foreign exchange inspections is also growing. Corporations are paying attention to managing risks related to tariffs, foreign exchange, and product classification more systematically across the entire spectrum of export-import transactions.
This special lecture was planned to help corporate practitioners effectively respond to compliance risks related to tariffs, foreign exchange, and product classification (HS) that may arise in the export-import process. ▲ Foreign exchange risk management: understanding foreign exchange transaction regulations and practical responses to inspections ▲ Response to U.S. Trump tariffs: responses to reciprocal tariff risks and practical strategies for tariffs and pricing ▲ HS product classification: risk management related to classification and practical measures for tariff reduction. The program will address, by topic, the major issues corporate practitioners face during export-import operations.
Experts from Samil PwC and PwC Customs and Trade Services, with many years of hands-on experience and expertise, will lead the lectures directly. Drawing on diverse field experience in tariff audits, origin verification, and responses to foreign exchange inspections, the instructors will focus on real cases that corporations actually face and on practical response measures.
Lee Young-mo, head of PwC Customs and Trade Services, said, "Through this special lecture, we hope corporate practitioners will systematically understand risks related to tariffs, foreign exchange, and product classification amid a changing trade environment, and build the capability to apply responses immediately in the field."
The course is fee-based, and participants can register through the Samil PwC Academy.
