KB Asset Management said on Apr. 9 that it obtained certification for the international standard "ISO 45001" for occupational health and safety management systems from the global certification body LRQA as part of efforts to strengthen the practice of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) management by advancing its occupational health and safety system.
"ISO 45001" is an international standard for occupational health and safety management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is granted to organizations that have a management system in place to proactively manage harmful and hazardous factors that may occur at business sites and to prevent industrial accidents.
KB Asset Management said that, for "ISO 45001" certification, it established occupational health and safety management policies and goals and refined related manuals and procedures. It also steadily increased activities related to occupational health and safety management, such as identifying and improving risk factors and building an emergency response system. In addition, it strengthened prevention-focused management activities, including occupational health and safety education for executives and employees, emergency response drills, and inspections of the office environment.
KB Asset Management plans to continue enhancing both the safe working environment for headquarters executives and employees and the overall management level across investment business sites.
Chief Executive Kim Young-seong of KB Asset Management said, "We will continue to strengthen our systematic management foundation to provide more stable and highly reliable asset management services to investors and customers."
