The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants said on the 8th that it opened the second-semester course of the "1st Certified Public Accountant Public Policy Leadership Camp" on the 2nd to expand certified public accountants' social roles and strengthen leadership.
The event is a talent development program that supports certified public accountants in participating in policy making and decision-making processes based on their expertise. The first camp was launched in Sep. last year and completed the first-semester course, and starting this month, the second-semester program will run for two months.
Experts in each field, including National Assembly members and heads of political consulting firms, are participating as second-semester instructors. Lecture topics include ▲ the people's choice and the mission of politicians ▲ changes in the political landscape and outlook for the local election political scene ▲ candidate speeches that win voters' hearts.
In the first-semester course held earlier, National Assembly legislative officials, National Assembly members and political science professors gave lectures on topics such as ▲ understanding Korea's political system ▲ the National Assembly and the legislative process ▲ understanding national fiscal policy and operations ▲ interparty relations and current political issues.
An official at The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants said, "The second semester is centered on an advanced curriculum focused on building the practical competencies needed for policy proposals and political participation," adding, "We will continue to actively support certified public accountants in becoming policy leaders who help raise accounting transparency across society through this camp."
