The National Pension Service said on the 7th that it welcomes Hana Financial Group's decision to establish the "Hana Financial Capital Markets One-Roof Center," which will concentrate core capital market functions in Jeonbuk Innovation City.
Hana Financial Group said it will build a base in Jeonbuk Innovation City, where the National Pension Service is located, integrating asset management, alternative investment management, securities, banking (custody services), and call center functions. It also said that about 150 employees will initially be assigned there.
It also said it plans to gradually expand personnel and functions by hiring local talent. It said it will support strengthening a growth platform to promote youth job creation and vitalize the startup ecosystem, including entrepreneurship education in partnership with major universities in Jeonbuk and creating dedicated office space for young entrepreneurs by using idle spaces.
Kim Sung-ju, chair of the National Pension Service, said, "I am pleased that, with the National Pension Service at the center, all four major domestic financial holding companies—KB, Shinhan, Woori Financial, and now Hana Financial—are joining in creating a financial ecosystem," adding, "We look forward to Hana Financial growing together with the National Pension Service."
