PKF Seohyun Accounting said on the 26th that it appointed Park Guk-jin, former head of Investigation Division 2 of Investigation Bureau 1 at the Seoul Regional Tax Service, as head of the management strategy and tax institutional sector.
PKF Seohyun Accounting said of Park's appointment that he is a tax expert who handled tax audits of large corporations and mid-sized companies while serving as head of Investigation Division 2 of Investigation Bureau 1 at the Seoul Regional Tax Service, and built experience in investigation, international taxes, and tax litigation.
Park Guk-jin, a 39th class graduate of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, holds qualifications as both a certified public accountant and an attorney. While studying in the Department of Economics at Seoul National University, he passed the certified public accountant exam in 2000 and began work as a CPA at Samil Accounting in 2001. After completing the Judicial Research and Training Institute, he worked at a law firm and then at key tax authorities, including the National Tax Service, the Seoul Regional Tax Service, and the Incheon Regional Tax Service.
Park served as Head of Team in the Investigation Planning Division at the National Tax Service and as Head of Team at the International Transaction Investigation Bureau of the Seoul Regional Tax Service, building expertise in tax audits and international taxes. While at the Investigation Planning Division of the National Tax Service, Park oversaw criminal tax audits and handled work related to the Punishment of Tax Offenses Act, including tax evasion crimes, and carried out comprehensive tax audits of corporations and individuals.
PKF Seohyun Accounting plans to expand professional services across a range of areas, including corporate tax advisory, tax risk management, and tax consulting for high-net-worth asset holders. In addition, while providing comprehensive services spanning accounting and advisory, the firm plans to focus on the taxes, accounting, and management advisory institutional sector by recruiting specialized talent.
A PKF Seohyun Accounting official said the appointment of Park Guk-jin will allow the firm to provide more systematic tax and accounting advisory services to corporate and individual clients.
