iM Securities held a regular shareholders meeting on the 25th and confirmed the appointment of Park Tae-dong as the new CEO.
iM Securities said that at the 38th regular shareholders meeting held that morning at the Korea Financial Investment Association Bulls Hall, it appointed Park Tae-dong, senior executive managing director at IBK Securities, as a new inside director. Park was then finally appointed CEO through the board meeting held afterward. The term is two years.
Park worked at Hana Bank and BNP Paribas, and oversaw trading and S&T at Meritz Securities, DS Investment & Securities, and IBK Securities. iM Securities described Park as "the right person who can pursue the company's sustainable growth based on a high level of expertise in the securities industry."
Also at the meeting, outside director Kim Jae-jun was reappointed as an outside director who will serve as an audit committee member for a one-year term. Kim previously served as head of the WM division at NH Investment & Securities and as an outside director at FnGuide, and has served as an outside director at iM Securities since 2024.
Director Cheon Byung-kyu was also reappointed as another non-executive director. Cheon's term runs until the end of this year, and Cheon currently serves as executive vice president and group chief financial officer at iM Financial Group.
In addition, at the shareholders meeting, in accordance with the Act on Corporate Governance of Financial Companies, the articles of incorporation were amended to add matters on the establishment and oversight of internal control and risk management policies to the board's authority, and the director compensation cap was set at 2.5 billion won, the same amount as last year.
