Kiwoom Securities said on the 19th that it signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with the e-sports club DRX.
At the signing ceremony held in the morning at the DRX Seoul Tower in Mapo District, Seoul, Eom Ju-sung, CEO of Kiwoom Securities, and DRX Chairman Park Jeong-mu attended.
The agreement includes cooperation plans such as NAMING. sponsorship and joint marketing. The new team name "Kiwoom DRX" is being strongly discussed.
Specifics such as the exact team name, contract period, and sponsorship amount will be finalized through the main contract later. As early as next month, starting with League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), the team will compete under the new name.
If this contract is concluded, Kiwoom Securities will take its first step into e-sports. Kiwoom Securities plans to further solidify its connection with Generation Z, a core customer base for the future.
DRX, an e-sports club founded in 2010, participates in nine titles including League of Legends (LoL), VALORANT, Battlegrounds, Tekken, and Street Fighter. Fifty players are on the roster.
Eom Ju-sung of Kiwoom Securities said, "We decided on this partnership to reach the daily lives of Generation Z, who will lead the future economy, in a more enjoyable way," and added, "We will provide unsparing support so we can grow together by engaging with DRX's powerful fandom."
