The number of SK hynix small shareholders increased by 400,000 in a year, surpassing the "1 million shareholders" mark.
According to SK hynix's "2025 business report" on the 17th, the number of SK hynix small shareholders stood at 1,186,328 as of the end of last year (Dec. 31). That is an increase of 405,461 from the end of the previous year (780,867).
They own 461,128,037 shares, equivalent to 63.34% of the total shares outstanding (728,002,365 shares).
This is seen as the result of a rebound in the semiconductor market in the second half of last year and a surge in the average selling price (ASP) centered on High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and commodity DRAM, which in turn drove a sharp increase in earnings. SK hynix posted operating profit of 47.2063 trillion won last year, marking its best performance ever.
SK hynix's share price rose steeply starting last year. With an average price of 277,348 won in July 2025, SK hynix first surpassed 318,182 won in September 2025 and climbed to 570,000 won in December 2025. In February this year, it reached the "1 million-nix" milestone for the first time.
By contrast, Samsung Electronics small shareholders decreased over the same period. In 2025, Samsung Electronics had 4,195,927 small shareholders, down 964,283 from the previous year (5,160,210).
