Krafton shares were strong early on the 13th. Buying picked up after news that Krafton and Hanwha Aerospace would jointly develop physical artificial intelligence (AI).
As of 10:09 a.m., Krafton was trading at 246,500 won, up 20,500 won (9.07%) from the previous session.
Krafton said it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hanwha Aerospace on Friday to jointly develop physical AI technology and establish a joint venture.
The partnership will combine Krafton's AI and software development technology with Hanwha Group's industrial infrastructure in the defense and manufacturing sectors.
Krafton said it will work with Hanwha Aerospace on tasks including ▲ joint research and development of core physical AI technologies ▲ review of demonstration and application scenarios ▲ establishment of technology and operation systems. It also plans to set up a joint venture to strengthen a mid- to long-term cooperation framework for on-site application and commercialization of the joint development results.
Krafton will also join as an investor in a $1 billion fund for AI, robotics, and defense industries formed by Hanwha Asset Management.
