Lee Eog-weon, chair of the Financial Services Commission (FSC), on the 10th recommended appointing Kang Seung-jun, vice president for international affairs at Seoul National University of Science and Technology, as the new chair of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT).
The KODIT chair is appointed by the president after a recommendation from the executive recommendation committee and a nomination by the chair of the Financial Services Commission (FSC). The Financial Services Commission (FSC) said of nominee Kang that he is "a candidate who, through long public service, has broad insight into the economy and finance overall and expertise in public institutions and fiscal management," and assessed him as "the right person to reform public institutions and strengthen the role of policy finance for productive finance."
Nominee Kang entered public service in 1991 through the 35th higher civil service exam and served as director general for public policy and director general for fiscal management at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, head of the support team for the National Economic Advisory Council, fiscal management officer, and auditor at the Bank of Korea. After serving as standing auditor at the Bank of Korea in 2021, he is currently a professor at Seoul National University of Science and Technology.
