Hanwha Investment & Securities on the 10th said demand for actuators will rise as global Robotics corporations commercialize robots, keeping ROBOTIS on a growth track. It initiated coverage with a "Buy" rating and a target price of 300,000 won. The previous trading day's closing price of ROBOTIS was 233,000 won.
ROBOTIS is a corporations with actuator technology, a core driving component of robots. Through its "DYNAMIXEL" product line, it has collaborated with Google DeepMind, MIT, and other Robotics corporations and Physical AI research institutions.
Last year's revenue was 38.9 billion won, with operating profit of 3.4 billion won, marking four straight quarters in the black. This year, as global Robotics corporations commercialize robots, revenue is projected at 65.9 billion won and operating profit at 7.0 billion won, extending the growth trend.
Kim Seong-rae, an analyst at Hanwha Investment & Securities, said, "This year, as major global players such as Tesla and Boston Dynamics expand technology verification (PoC) and mass-production preparations for robot commercialization, demand for robot actuators will increase, broadening ROBOTIS' gains."
In particular, Kim said, "Beyond actuator product sales, growth in sales of the dual-arm robot AI Worker and the hand actuation system 'HX5' is expected to contribute to revenue," adding, "With rising demand for Physical AI research and industrial applications, demand is expected to increase for dual-arm robots and hand actuation systems for motion demonstrations and imitation learning."
It is also positive that the company has on-site data and its own manipulation technology for advancing AI. Kim said, "Among the technologies needed for robot commercialization, ROBOTIS has 'on-site data' for AI advancement and in-house capabilities in manipulation technology that enhance robot utility, meeting favorable conditions to respond to large-scale demand."
He added, "As the Uzbekistan plant is sequentially prepared from the second half of this year, physical data using AI Worker and HX5 will be collected to secure robot motion performance at the level users require, and as actuator production capacity at the current annual 300,000 units expands to 3 million units by 2028, top-line growth will come into view."
