Vice Chairman Kim Yong-beom of Meritz Financial Group has effectively secured a fifth consecutive term.
According to the financial sector on the 9th, the Nominating Committee of Meritz Financial Group recently recommended Kim as the chief executive officer candidate. The Nominating Committee said Kim "has deep expertise, having served as CEO of Meritz Securities and Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance," and deemed the candidate suitable.
The final appointment will be decided at the regular shareholders meeting on the 26th and then by the board of directors. If confirmed, it will be a fifth consecutive term, and the term will be extended until the regular shareholders meeting in 2029.
Kim has served as CEO of Meritz Capital Securities and CEO of Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance. Since 2014, Kim has held the post of vice chairman and CEO of the holding company.
