Korea Investment & Securities Co. said on the 27th that starting on the 28th it will roll out an "ETF Market" service on its mobile trading system (MTS) "Korea Investment" app, allowing users to compare and summarize popular exchange-traded fund (ETF) products by major asset manager and theme and place trades.
According to Korea Investment & Securities Co., the ETF holdings of customers using the non-face-to-face and bank-affiliated service "BanKIS" increased 22% in the month through the end of January this year. In brokerage-type individual savings accounts (ISA), they surged 29%, indicating that transactions through tax-saving accounts were also very active.
An app update is required to use the service. Kwak Jin, head of eBiz at Korea Investment & Securities Co., said, "In a rapidly changing market environment, we will focus on maximizing the convenience of non-face-to-face transaction so customers can find the best products for their investment goals and trade."
