Shinyoung Securities said on the 25th that Vice President Kim Dae-il, 58, was promoted and appointed as the new president. This is a follow-up personnel move after former CEO Hwang Seong-yeop left upon being elected head of the Korea Financial Investment Association.
Kim will take office as CEO after the shareholders meeting in Jun. and will lead Shinyoung Securities under a co-CEO structure with CEO Geum Jeong-ho.
Kim graduated from Deokjin High School and Seoul National University's business administration department and earned a master's degree from the University of Illinois in the United States. Kim entered the financial investment industry through Daehan Comprehensive Finance in 1996 and joined Shinyoung Securities in 1999, serving for 27 years.
After working in management strategy, risk management and management accounting, Kim built expertise in the over-the-counter derivatives field for 11 years starting in 2004. Kim later served as director of over-the-counter derivatives; head of the Asset Allocation division (senior managing director and executive managing director); and head of WM and asset allocation (vice president).
In this personnel reshuffle, Shinyoung Securities also promoted and appointed Vice Presidents Bae Jun-seong (CM, corporate finance, structured finance, ECM, PE division), Wi Seong-seung (audit office) and Cheon Shin-young (asset allocation solutions and Operation division).
