An analysis said Samsung Electronics' average annual compensation per employee last year would exceed 150 million won.
Korea CXO Institute, a corporations analysis specialist, released on the 19th its "2025 Samsung Electronics employee average compensation analysis," estimating last year's expected average compensation per employee at 153 million to 158 million won.
The institute calculated per-capita annual pay by dividing the total employee salary aggregates by the total number of employees based on separate-basis audit reports. The total employee compensation, combining 2025 salaries and retirement benefits, is about 1.97963 trillion won, and the number of Samsung Electronics employees was calculated using a baseline range of 125,300 to 127,100.
Assuming per-capita annual pay of 155 million won, the average compensation for Samsung Electronics employees rose by about 25 million won (19.2%) in a year. The average compensation for Samsung Electronics employees changed as follows: 119 million won in 2018, 108 million won in 2019, 127 million won in 2020, 144 million won in 2021, 135 million won in 2022, 120 million won in 2023, and 130 million won in 2024. If last year's annual pay reaches the 150 million-won range, it would mark the highest level in Samsung Electronics' history.
Meanwhile, the institute analyzed that new hiring at Samsung Electronics decreased last year. New subscribers to the National Pension Service in 2025 totaled 6,496, the lowest compared with 2022 (12,957), 2023 (9,125), and 2024 (10,960). Although the number of National Pension subscribers does not exactly match the total number of employees, it shows a trend of reduced new hiring, the institute said.
