Philippine dining company Jollibee Foods will acquire the domestic shabu-shabu buffet brand "Shabu All Day."
According to the investment banking (IB) industry on the 18th, Jollibee recently signed a stock purchase agreement (SPA) through its Korea subsidiary "Jolly K" to acquire 100% equity of All Day Fresh, the operator of Shabu All Day. The transaction was carried out jointly with domestic private equity fund Elevation Equity Partners, and the purchase price was reportedly about 120 billion won.
Shabu All Day is a brand launched by Myeongnyundang in July 2023. In its first year, sales were only 200 million won and operating profit was 200 million won, but in 2024 sales surged to 54 billion won and operating profit to 13.7 billion won.
Jollibee has recently been active in securing K-food brands. In 2024, it acquired COMPOSE COFFEE together with Elevation EP. It also pursued the acquisition of the chicken franchise "Norang Tongdak," but the transaction fell through just before closing.
Shabu All Day falls under the "hot pot (jeongol)" category, which is popularized in Southeast Asia, and is seen as having strong potential for local expansion. The plan is to differentiate by combining this with a "Korean-style premium buffet" concept.
