Naver Pay said on the 11th it will cover all in-person payment fees for small and micro merchants during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Small and micro stores will be eligible for free fees from the 16th to the 22nd without a separate application. During the support period, fees will be refunded for transactions paid with points or money via Npay QR payment or Samsung Pay.
Npay has supported small and micro merchants by various means, including cutting or waiving payment fees.
From November 2020 to December 2021, it covered all in-person payment fees for offline merchants struggling with the spread of COVID-19. In April last year, it offered free online payment fees for small and micro merchants that recorded their first Naver Pay payment within four months, and it lowered online fees for small and micro merchants three times—in July 2021, January 2022, and through September last year.
