The Insurance Research Institute's presidential candidate recommendation committee said on the 10th that it recommended former Soonchunhyang University professor of IT finance and management Kim Heon-su as the seventh president of the Insurance Research Institute.
The same day, the Insurance Research Institute's candidate recommendation committee said it conducted interview screening and confirmed the former professor Kim as the final candidate for the new president.
The former professor Kim earned a doctorate from Georgia State University and served as a member of the Financial Development Deliberation Committee, president of the Korea Risk Management Society, and president of the Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA). In 2017, Kim served as the 29th president of the Korea Insurance Academic Society, and during the last presidential election worked as co-vice chair of the finance subcommittee of "Growth and Integration," the policy think tank for Democratic Party of Korea candidate Lee Jae-myung.
The Insurance Research Institute's general meeting of employees is set to give final approval to the seventh president of the Insurance Research Institute on the 24th.
