Jin Ok-dong, chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, met with Jason Rekate, global head of corporations finance at Citigroup, and other executives at Shinhan Financial's headquarters in Jung District, Seoul, on the 29th and discussed directions for cooperation.
According to Shinhan Financial Group on the 1st, Chairman Jin discussed directions for cooperation in future finance, including global business expansion and digital asset, in a meeting with Citigroup executives.
The two companies agreed to strengthen their global partnership in acquisition finance and project financing in key financial markets such as the United States, Europe, and Asia. They also agreed to continue consultations on key businesses based on digital assets such as deposit tokens and on building cross-border currency payment infrastructure to respond to digital and artificial intelligence transformation (AX). A deposit token refers to a digital asset that tokenizes bank deposits using Blockchain technology.
Chairman Jin said, "I hope this meeting will further strengthen cooperation between the two companies and lead to opportunities for joint growth in the global market."
