Hana Card said on the 30th that last year's net profit came to 217.7 billion won, down 1.8% from 221.7 billion won a year earlier.
Hana Card said growth slowed under an operating stance focused on adjusting the fee structure to ease burdens on merchants and on conservative credit soundness.
In the fourth quarter, net profit was 47.7 billion won, up 27.9% from a year earlier. The result was driven by growth in overseas spending centered on Travelog, higher overseas card purchase volume due to an increase in foreign tourists, and continued strong performance in corporations card results. During the same period, the total bond arrears rate was 1.74%, down 0.13 percentage points and 0.05 percentage points from a year earlier (1.87%) and the previous quarter (1.79%), respectively.
Hana Card said, "This year we plan to focus on growth in payment-based revenue by expanding our consumer base centered on the Nara Sarang Card," adding, "Our top-priority strategic businesses, the corporations card and Global (Travelog), will continue their growth through stronger customer management activities and service improvements."
