SNT Energy said on the 21st that it is participating in Powergen International 2026, held in San Antonio, Texas, in the United States for three days starting on the 20th of this month (local time).
The event is the world's largest power generation exhibition, spanning from liquefied natural gas (LNG) power to nuclear and renewable energy. More than 500 corporations from about 80 countries, including major power producers, large energy-consuming corporations, and various equipment suppliers, are participating.
SNT Energy plans to establish global partnerships for LNG combined-cycle power generation (HRSG) and Surface Condenser, a key auxiliary device for nuclear power generation.
The company previously earned recognition for its technology by successfully delivering, for the first time in Korea, a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) using the Super Module method to the Ichthys project in Australia in 2014. The "Super Module method" transports a fully assembled HRSG and installs it directly at the power plant site, reducing on-site construction time and expense.
Based on the plant it established last year in Louisiana, United States, SNT Energy plans not only local U.S. production of HRSGs and Surface Condensers but also to connect in multiple ways to maintenance and various after-sales service businesses for existing power plants in the United States.
During several overseas HRSG bidding processes conducted when the won-dollar exchange rate fell below the 1,300-won level in 2023, SNT Energy took a conservative approach by reflecting the potential for future exchange rate increases in its bid prices and failed to win orders. The company plans to use this as a turning point to actively participate in future overseas and domestic order competitions.
An SNT Energy official said, "Through this Powergen event, we will join the global power generation industry's trend to overcome power shortages in the age of artificial intelligence (AI) and respond in multiple ways to the global HRSG market."
