KOSDAQ-listed corporations THE CUBE& said on the 19th that it formalized its entry into renewable energy by securing equity in green hydrogen company SCL Energy through a strategic investment.
With this investment, THE CUBE& will join the hydrogen supply chain based on SCL Energy's high-efficiency green hydrogen production technology. SCL Energy will use the funds to expand its Hwaseong R&D (research and development) center and production facilities.
THE CUBE& said SCL Energy has competitiveness in green hydrogen production by combining renewable energy and electron beam (E-beam) technology. According to the industry, while the conventional water electrolysis method requires 50–55 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of power to produce 1 kilogram of hydrogen, SCL Energy's method uses only 10 kWh.
SCL Energy plans to operate commercial green hydrogen facilities within one to two years based on the investment funds. A THE CUBE& official said, "This partnership will be a model case that strengthens the green hydrogen industry ecosystem through the synergy of technology and capital."
