KB Kookmin Bank labor and management reached a tentative agreement to introduce a "4.9-day workweek," allowing employees to leave one hour early on Fridays.
According to the financial sector on the 19th, KB Kookmin Bank labor and management the previous day signed a tentative labor-management agreement that includes the introduction of a 4.9-day workweek. The agreement reportedly specifies measures such as moving Friday quitting time up to 5 p.m. from 6 p.m. and shutting down all PCs in the bank at 5 p.m.
The agreement also includes a wage increase of 3.1% for regular employees and 3.3% for contract employees on an aggregates basis.
Previously, labor and management at Shinhan, NongHyup, and Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) also agreed to similar systems. Labor and management at Hana Bank are discussing the introduction of a similar plan. At Woori Bank, discussion of the 4.9-day workweek has been somewhat delayed following a recent leadership change in the union.
