Former Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Yun Yeong-deok, 57, has been appointed the new head of the Credit Information Association.
Born in Damyang, South Jeolla, the new chair Yun graduated from the political science and international relations department at Chosun University and worked in civic activism before serving as an official in the Blue House senior civil affairs secretary's office under Moon Jae-in. Afterward, Yun was elected in the 21st general election and served as the Democratic Party floor spokesperson and co-chair of the Democratic United Alliance. Until recently, Yun worked as a special-appointed professor at the Chosun University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation.
The Credit Information Association said the industry expects that "the new chair Yun will leverage the network built so far and experience in legislative activities to address pending issues and help the credit information industry take a step forward."
