On the 2nd, the KOSPI index hit an intraday record high again and was strong.
As of 12:43 p.m., the KOSPI index was trading at 4,277.33, up 63.16 points (1.50%) from the previous day. During the session, it rose to as high as 4,281.09, rewriting the intraday record high (4,226.75) set on Nov. 4 last year.
On the main board, foreigners alone were net buyers of 61 billion won. Individuals and institutions sold 79.5 billion won and 3.8 billion won in stocks, respectively.
Among large-cap stocks, SK Square jumped nearly 6%, and Samsung Electronics and SK hynix were up 4.84% and 3.53%, respectively. Doosan Enerbility (0.80%) and Hanwha Aerospace (0.64%) were also slightly higher. In contrast, LG Energy Solution (-1.90%), HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (-0.98%), and Samsung Biologics (-0.47%) were weaker.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index was at 941.45, up 15.98 points (1.73%) from the previous day. On the KOSDAQ market, foreigners and institutions were net buyers of 142.9 billion won and 70.6 billion won, respectively. Only individuals were net sellers of 201 billion won.
Among top KOSDAQ names by market cap, Rainbow Robotics (5.21%), HLB (3.54%), Sam Chun Dang Pharm (3.01%), and Alteogen (1.45%) were rising. Kolon TissueGene (-7.79%), EcoPro BM (-2.80%), EcoPro (-2.31%), Peptron (-1.97%), and LigaChem Biosciences (-1.55%) were weak.
In the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-dollar rate was trading at 1,442.8 won per $1 at the same time, up 3.3 won from the previous session.
