The eldest son of Mirae Asset Financial Group Chairman Park Hyun-joo, Jun-beom, will move to Mirae Asset Securities. Jun-beom is currently working as a senior investment officer at Mirae Asset Venture Investment. With Jun-beom starting work at Mirae Asset Securities, the group's core, some say the clock for the succession of management will speed up.
According to the securities industry on the 31st, Park, the senior officer, will move from Mirae Asset Venture Investment to Mirae Asset Securities starting in the new year through personnel changes announced that day. Park is expected to leverage expertise while working in the PI (proprietary investment) institutional sector.
Some had projected a move to Mirae Asset Global Investments, but as assessments mounted that securities is where Park, the senior officer, could best demonstrate expertise, the move to securities was decided. Mirae Asset Securities is the key affiliate that accounts for the largest share of the group's overall net profit and global business.
Born in 1993, Park, the senior officer, majored in economics at Washington University in St. Louis in the United States. After graduating from college, Park worked as a project manager at Netmarble for two years starting in 2020, and joined Mirae Asset Venture Investment in 2022, serving as an investment officer. Over the past three years, Park led deal sourcing and investment in the startup 2020 and spearheaded a secondary share investment in the apparel company Andar, taking active steps.
Mirae Asset Financial Group has a governance structure that runs "Chairman Park → Mirae Asset Consulting → Mirae Asset Global Investments → Mirae Asset Capital → Mirae Asset Securities → Mirae Asset Life Insurance."
Regarding this, a Mirae Asset official said it was "expanding personnel to discover innovative growth companies as unlisted investments gain importance."
