Global private equity fund (PEF) Bain Capital has begun talks to acquire the largest shareholder's equity in ECHOMARKETING. ECHOMARKETING is well known as the parent company of the athleisure brand "Andar."
According to the investment banking (IB) industry on the 31st, Bain Capital is recently discussing acquiring the largest shareholder's equity in ECHOMARKETING.
ECHOMARKETING is a marketing agency specialized corporations, and since acquiring Andar in 2021, it has grown it into Korea's No. 1 athleisure brand. In addition to Andar, it has been growing by building brands such as Daily&Co, Klug, and Mongze. In the third quarter of this year, it posted revenue of 117.8 billion won and operating profit of 15.5 billion won, marking a quarterly record high.
The current largest shareholder of ECHOMARKETING is founder and CEO Kim Cheol-ung. The market values Kim's equity at about 100 billion won.
Bain Capital has been making aggressive investments in consumer goods and brand corporations. It also has a track record of investing in beauty-sector corporations, including CLASSYS, a beauty medical device company, and ILOODA, a beauty device manufacturer.
