Korea Exchange (KRX) will revamp its comprehensive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) information platform, the "ESG Portal," and launch an English-language service.
On the 29th, the exchange said in a press release that it will roll out the revamped ESG Portal service starting on the 30th.
First, the exchange built a new feature within the portal to compare and search governance information for domestic corporations (KOSPI), and enhanced search functions to improve usability.
A separate search screen was also added for about 80 disclosure items, including the status of compliance with 15 key governance indicators and whether governance-related policies have been adopted. On this screen, users can leverage detailed search functions such as searching by corporation name and viewing by industry.
It will also provide the main content of the current Korean-language ESG Portal in English to address information asymmetry between domestic and foreign investors. The English service will cover ESG disclosures with high investor demand, including key information such as corporate governance reports, sustainability reports, and ESG rating grades.
English ESG disclosures submitted by corporations will be made available for batch search. Even for corporations that submitted only Korean-language ESG disclosures, the disclosure titles and templates will be automatically converted into English.
It will also provide English content on major domestic and international ESG trends and the status of ESG statistics in Korea.
An exchange official said, "We will improve domestic and foreign investors' access to ESG information while encouraging listed corporations to disclose ESG information proactively, thereby strengthening the foundation for activating ESG investment."
