SFA Engineering Corporation, which focuses on semiconductor, secondary battery, and display equipment, said on the 29th it will appoint Executive Director Kim Sang-kyeong as the new CEO.
Kim, the new CEO, was appointed as an inside director at an extraordinary shareholders meeting that day and then was chosen as CEO by the board of directors.
Kim graduated from Yeungnam University with a degree in mechanical engineering and began a career as an engineer in 1988 on the automated production team at Samsung Techwin.
After the founding of SFA, Kim led research and development (R&D) for process equipment through 2013, and from 2014 to 2023, for about 10 years, headed the process equipment division, driving expansion from the display equipment market into the secondary battery manufacturing equipment market. Since 2024, Kim has been leading the logistics systems division.
A company official said, "Based on extensive on-site experience, we expect the new CEO Kim, who has a strong understanding of the business and expertise, to make a significant contribution to SFA's mid- to long-term growth amid a rapidly changing market environment."
