The virtual asset service provider (VASP) license of the virtual asset exchange Upbit has been renewed.
According to the financial sector on the 23rd, the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) issued the receipt of acceptance for the renewal filing of the virtual asset service provider (VASP) license submitted by Dunamu on this day. Under the Act on Reporting and Using Specified Financial Transaction Information, virtual asset service providers must renew their business filings every three years.
Dunamu filed with financial authorities as a virtual asset service provider in 2021. With the renewal deadline coming at the end of Aug. last year, the filing was accepted by financial authorities about one year and four months after submitting the renewal application.
Dunamu said, "We will faithfully fulfill the obligations set by the Act on Reporting and Using Specified Financial Transaction Information, strengthen anti-money laundering measures, and do our best to provide a safer and more reliable digital asset investment environment."
