Financial Supervisory Service Governor Lee Chan-jin carried out the first regular reshuffle of department heads centered on bureau directors and Deputy Ministers. It is the first large-scale personnel move since Lee took office.
On the 22nd, the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) said it conducted the first regular reshuffle of department heads since the inauguration, assigning positions to 27 bureau directors and Deputy Ministers, reassigning 33, and keeping 22 in place. The FSS said it focused on strengthening financial consumer protection functions and enhancing its capacity to respond to financial issues.
In the consumer protection oversight institutional sector newly established under the direct control of the governor, Director General Noh Young-hu was appointed senior Director General; Director General Lim Gwon-sun was appointed Director General of the Consumer Damage Prevention Bureau; and Director General Park Hyun-seop was appointed Director General of the Consumer Communication Bureau, each as senior Director General. Director General Jung Eun-jung was appointed to the Bank Supervision Bureau, and Director General Kim Eun-sun was appointed to the Accounting Supervision Bureau. The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) plans to complete follow-up regular personnel moves, including transfers of Heads of Team and team members, by mid-Jan. next year.
