IGIS Asset Management said on the 17th that it held the "2025 real estate operations management safety seminar" on the theme of preventing warehouse fire at logistics centers. More than 60 facility and operations officials and major asset managers (PM) in Korea attended the seminar.
The seminar focused on sharing the fire characteristics of logistics centers and prevention, inspection, and emergency response cases that on-site users and managers can apply. It also included awards for excellent safety management business sites and presentations of best practices from three business sites.
IGIS Asset Management explained that as logistics centers trend toward extra-large scale, increased fire load and more complex equipment structures make fires spread quickly and heighten the risk of casualties and property damage. In particular, it introduced increases in fire cases related to electrical factors and robot batteries through fire cases over the past 15 years and emphasized cooperation among on-site management parties.
The seminar covered four topics: understanding the fire characteristics of logistics centers, analyzing risk factors, prevention management and emergency response cases, and guidance on self-implementation inspections. A "user-support ABC methodology," designed for field application, was also introduced. The methodology is divided into A (risk prevention management), B (normal management of fire protection systems), and C (fire emergency response). It was structured so that users and managers can refer to it during self-inspections across entire facilities, encompassing both common and exclusive areas.
Lee Bae-geun, head of safety and health at IGIS Asset Management, said, "Safety and health management is an ESG core value," and added, "We will continue to support industry stakeholders so they recognize risk factors and operate safety systems."
