Leading Investment & Securities said on the 16th that Mirae Asset Venture Investment is expected to benefit from the launch of the Public Growth Fund. It did not provide a target price or investment opinion. The previous trading day's closing price of Mirae Asset Venture Investment was 10,670 won.
Mirae Asset Venture Investment's main business is investing in small and venture corporations. Assets under management stood at about 1.7 trillion won at the end of last year. APR Co., Lunit, and GI Innovation are cited as representative investment success stories.
Han Je-yoon, an analyst at Leading Investment & Securities, predicted that the launch of the Public Growth Fund could serve as a key momentum to lift the fundamentals of Mirae Asset Venture Investment by one notch.
Recently, the government announced it would create the Public Growth Fund to resolve the domestic stock market's undervaluation. The Public Growth Fund will be created at a scale of 150 trillion won and will consist of four broad categories: direct investment, indirect investment, infrastructure investment, and ultra-low interest loans. Among these, indirect investment involves committing capital to domestic funds that invest in venture, small, and mid-sized corporations.
Han said, "Due to indirect investment, the 'amount raised for new venture investment' could increase significantly over the next few years," and "improvement in Mirae Asset Venture Investment's key indicators is expected."
Mirae Asset Venture Investment posted an operating profit of 15.7 billion won last year, the smallest profit in the past five years. Han said, "However, starting with Seifive at the end of this year, the time is approaching for exits (investment recovery) from many previously invested corporations, including Moloco, Rebellions, and SpaceX."
He added, "Separately from the launch of the Public Growth Fund, the turning performance and large-scale exit momentum are also key investment points."
