Korea Development Bank said on Jan. 9 that it appointed Vice President Shin Hye-suk as head of the Public Growth Fund division, which will oversee disbursement of the 150 trillion won Public Growth Fund.
The Public Growth Fund is a program to supply 150 trillion won over five years to advanced strategic industries such as artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors.
Born in 1970, Shin graduated from the Department of Public Administration at Yonsei University and earned a master's in international finance from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. Shin then joined the bank and served as Head of Team at the Apgujeong branch, head of the Ilsan branch, head of the Venture Technology Finance Office, and head of the Indirect Investment Finance Office. Since Dec. last year, Shin has worked as head of the Innovation Growth Finance Division, overseeing the NextRound platform that discovers and supports ventures and startups.
For the time being, Shin will hold both the Public Growth Fund division head and the Innovation Growth Finance division head posts.
