Samsung Futures said on Jan. 8 that it held an extraordinary shareholders meeting and a board meeting and appointed Kim In, executive vice president and head of planning at Samsung Securities, as CEO.
Kim passed the 37th civil service examination and studied economics at Seoul National University.
Kim served as an economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), a director in the securities systems division at the then Ministry of Economy and Finance, and head of the capital markets investigation team at the Financial Services Commission (FSC).
Joining Samsung Financial Networks in 2014 as head of planning (senior managing director) at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Kim later held key posts within the group, including executive vice president at Samsung Securities.
