Korea INclusive Finance Agency (KINFA) said on the 7th that 11 financial institutions, including the Financial Supervisory Service, financial associations and banks, delivered briquettes worth 120 million won (about 100,000 pieces), heating oil (5,400 liters) and promotional items to prevent damage from illegal private lending (200 sets) to vulnerable groups.
About 150 employees from each institution personally delivered 4,000 briquettes and 600 liters of heating oil to 100 households, including energy-vulnerable residents and seniors living alone in Gaemi Village, Seodaemun District, Seoul, on the 5th. They also conducted a promotional campaign by delivering 100 packages of promotional items containing slogans to prevent damage from illegal private lending. Actor Jeong Aeri, a promotional ambassador for the Briquette Bank, also joined.
The remaining briquettes, heating oil and promotional item packages will be delivered through 31 Briquette Banks nationwide.
The sharing warmth of love campaign is the only joint social contribution program in the financial sector in Korea, launched in 2020 with voluntary participation from the finance industry to support vulnerable groups hit hard by COVID-19.
So far, about 1.03 million briquettes (worth about 900 million won) have been donated to energy-vulnerable households nationwide. This year's campaign involved the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), Korea Life Insurance Association, Korea INclusive Finance Agency (KINFA), General Insurance Association of Korea, Credit Counseling & Recovery Service (CCRS), Credit Finance Association, Woori Bank, Korea Federation of Banks, Korea Federation of Savings Banks, Kbank and KOSDAQ Association.
