Hyupjin, an industrial equipment manufacturing specialist, said on the 2nd it will acquire An Robotics, a service robot company focused on public and control center fields.
An Robotics was a company owned by CITECH, Hyupjin's largest shareholder. Since its founding in 1994, it has been engaged for more than 30 years in public institutional sector service automation systems and public service guide robot manufacturing.
With this acquisition of An Robotics, Hyupjin plans to expand its business into professional robots as a service. By securing An Robotics' artificial intelligence (AI) vision and speech recognition technologies, it appears the company can create synergy. The acquisition also pushes expansion into the global robot market.
A Hyupjin official said, "We will create strong synergy by combining An Robotics' AI guide, transport, and sorting service robots and integrated control technology for the Robot Operating System (ROS) with advanced equipment manufacturing technology," adding, "We will develop innovative solutions that can achieve factory automation at a competitive expense compared with existing automation solutions."
