A virtual asset hack worth 54 billion won occurred at the virtual asset exchange Upbit. In the wake of the hack, Upbit has halted virtual asset deposits and withdrawals and is conducting inspections.
According to Dunamu, which operates Upbit, at about 4:42 a.m. on the 27th, signs were detected that virtual currency worth about 54 billion won was transferred from Upbit to an unknown external wallet. The target assets are 24 Solana network assets, including Solana (SOL), Double Zero (2Z), Access Protocol (ACS), and Bonk (BONK).
As part of its response to the hack, Upbit has blocked all virtual currency deposits and withdrawals since 8:55 a.m. It said the hacked assets will be fully covered with Upbit assets.
Dunamu, which operates Upbit, said, "We are taking measures to freeze related transactions to the extent possible," and added, "Deposits and withdrawals of virtual currency will be resumed sequentially once stability is secured."
