On the 26th in the morning, the KOSPI recovered the 3,900 level on the back of buying by institutional investors. The KOSDAQ rose 1.6% to the 869 level.
As of 10:08 a.m., the KOSPI was at 3,904.89, up 47.11 points (1.22%) from the previous trading day. The KOSPI opened at 3,891.88, up 34.1 points (0.88%) from the day before.
In the main board, institutions and foreigners were net buyers of 394 billion won and 16 billion won, respectively, driving the index higher. Retail investors alone sold 410 billion won worth.
Among the top 10 by market capitalization on the main board, shares of nine stocks were rising. Except for SK hynix, shares such as Samsung Electronics, LG Energy Solution, Samsung Biologics and Hyundai Motor were on the rise.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ was at 869.74, up 13.71 points (1.6%) from the previous day. The KOSDAQ opened at 863.28, up 7.25 points (0.85%) from the previous session.
In the KOSDAQ market as well, foreigners and institutions were net buyers of 56 billion won and 30 billion won, respectively. In contrast, retail investors alone moved to "sell," with net sales of 67 billion won.
All of the top 10 KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization were rising. Shares of Alteogen, EcoPro BM, Peptron and ABL Bio were all at higher prices than the previous day.
At the same time in the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-dollar exchange rate was 1,459.4 won per U.S. dollar, down 6.8 won from the previous trading day.
