NH Investment & Securities launched the country's first carbon credit brokerage trading system among domestic securities firms.
NH Investment & Securities said on the 24th that it launched the carbon credit brokerage trading service "NHIS K-ETS HTS."
The carbon credit brokerage trading service is a core task of the pilot project for brokerage trading of emissions permits promoted by the Korea Exchange (KRX) and the Environment Ministry. NH Investment & Securities, the first among domestic securities firms to obtain a license for brokerage in emissions trading, will provide intermediary services.
Previously, the only way to trade permits was to access the Korea Exchange (KRX) directly as a member, but the introduction of this system has opened a new consignment trading framework through private securities firms. Institutions wishing to participate in the market can use NH Investment & Securities' dedicated account. "NHIS K-ETS HTS" is equipped with an HTS infrastructure that can handle up to 1 million concurrent users.
NH Investment & Securities explained that through this service, allocated companies can expect ▲ enhanced transaction convenience ▲ diversification of market participation methods ▲ reduction in transaction costs. It also noted that it is expected to have a positive effect on strengthening liquidity in the emissions market and advancing the price discovery function.
