Hyundai Motor Securities held the 1st 2025 carbon finance insight day on the 19th at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul, inviting experts from related corporations and institutions to share the latest trends and insights in carbon finance.
The seminar consisted of three sessions. The first session covered the emissions trading scheme and market trends, the second session addressed corporations' response strategies and implementation cases, and the final session dealt with topics such as understanding emissions derivatives.
About 90 people attended the seminar, including President Bae Hyeong-geun of Hyundai Motor Securities; 23 people from 11 affiliates of Hyundai Motor Group; and 49 staffers from related departments of 34 general corporations subject to carbon regulations such as the emissions trading scheme and the target management system.
In addition, under the aim of practicing carbon neutrality and a circular economy, all materials were provided in a paperless format, and souvenirs made by upcycling end-of-life car seats were offered.
President Bae Hyeong-geun of Hyundai Motor Securities said, "This seminar was prepared to jointly seek practical strategies that allow corporations to respond preemptively to the changing emissions trading scheme and minimize risk," and added, "By sharing insights that can turn the emissions trading scheme into a new opportunity, we hope it will become a starting point for innovation in carbon management and sustainable growth."
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Securities is providing "carbon finance solutions" for client companies, including the provision of the latest information on the emissions market and regulations, regulatory responses to the emissions trading scheme, and investment in and development of external projects.
