Comprehensive management corporations Billions will merge its subsidiary XYZ Studio. The plan is to integrate roles such as management functions, content, production, and records into one to push a structural upgrade.
Billions said on the 19th that it will absorb and merge its subsidiary XYZ Studio. Through this merger, Billions will build a system centered on its headquarters that encompasses planning, actor management, music, and video production, and will begin in earnest its transformation into comprehensive entertainment corporations.
XYZ Studio is a company with actors including Jo Bo-ah, Jeong Seong-il, Jang Yoon-ju, Geum Hae-na, Kim Jae-cheol, and Ji Hye-won. With this merger, Billions expanded its management scale on a single-corporation basis and set up a structure in which the linkage between production and casting occurs more naturally.
Cooperation with subsidiary Billions Plus is also expected to be further strengthened. Billions Plus proved its competitiveness by producing the drama Newtopia, starring Park Jeong-min, which recently ranked high on the Coupang global OTT index. With this restructuring, Billions can operate planning, casting, and production in an integrated way. Through this, it secured favorable conditions to push forward its next content projects targeting global OTT platforms.
The record and performance division is also expected to expand its content capabilities. Billions is home to top-tier Korean vocalists such as INFINITE main vocalists Kim Sung-kyu and Nam Woo-hyun, Apink main vocalist Jeong Eun-ji, SG Wannabe's Kim Yong-jun, and former Wanna One member Yoon Ji-sung. It has the competitiveness to directly oversee the production of various types of music content and performance businesses, including solo concerts, overseas tours, OSTs, and project albums.
Billions plans to sign a new project contract within the year with a major Japanese record company. Billions has concrete plans to expand its business scope to domestic and overseas performances and the music market, and it will directly oversee and participate in the production of its affiliated artists' domestic and overseas performances.
A Billions official said, "We will grow beyond a simple manufacturing-based listed company into comprehensive IP, music, and video production corporations," adding, "This merger will serve as an important momentum for a future revaluation of corporate value, and through aggressive recruitment we will secure management expansion and production capabilities."
