Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang met with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, shared "chimaek" (chicken and beer) at Kkanbu Chicken, and the next day KYOCHON F&B shares surged. It appears to be because KYOCHON F&B is the only listed company among domestic chicken franchises.
KYOCHON F&B shares traded at 4,835 won in the pre-market at 8:40 a.m. on the 31st. The stock rose 14.44% (610 won) from the previous day. It spiked as high as 5,210 won.
Huang, visiting Korea for the first time in 15 years, Lee, and Chung enjoyed chimaek from about 7:30 p.m. the previous day at a Kkanbu Chicken location near Samseong Station in Gangnam District, Seoul. When asked by reporters if he knew what chimaek means, Huang joked, "Isn't it good for your health?" before answering, "I love enjoying fried chicken and beer with friends."
After the chimaek gathering, they also attended Nvidia's "GeForce Gamer Festival" held at COEX in Gangnam District, Seoul.
