Robot-themed stocks were broadly higher early on the 31st. The move was seen as driven by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's remarks that he would deliver "good news" on robots following the "chicken meeting."
As of 9:09 a.m. that day, Doosan Robotics was trading at 75,600 won, up 4,500 won (6.33%) from the previous session. On the KOSDAQ market, Angel Robotics rose 11.9% and Rainbow Robotics gained 7.1%, sending related shares higher together.
On the 30th, at the 25th anniversary event for the Korea launch of "GeForce" held at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, Jensen Huang said, "There is good news for Korea, and the hint is related to artificial intelligence (AI) and Robotics."
Earlier, Jensen Huang met at a chicken restaurant in Gangnam with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun. Afterward, Chung, who took the stage with Huang, also hinted at potential cooperation in robots, saying, "In the future, Nvidia chips will go into cars and into Robotics, and it seems we will work together."
