On Nov. 13, when the College Scholastic Ability Test is held, the opening time of Korea's stock markets will be pushed back by one hour to 10 a.m.
Korea Exchange (KRX) said on the 30th it will adjust regular trading hours for the KOSPI market, KOSDAQ market and KONEX market to 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. That is one hour later than the existing 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Accordingly, pre-market off-hours transactions will also be delayed by one hour. For post-close single-price and block/basket trades, only the start time will be pushed back by one hour, while the closing time remains the same at 6 p.m.
In the derivatives market, the opening and closing times for stock and interest rate products such as KOSPI 200 futures and options, mini KOSPI 200 futures and options, KRX 300 futures, and Government Bonds futures will each be pushed back by one hour, while only the opening time will be delayed by one hour for currency products such as U.S. dollar futures and options and for gold futures. Hog futures will trade as usual without changes.
In the night session, the opening time for KOSPI 200 futures and U.S. dollar futures will be pushed back by one hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the closing time (6 a.m. the following day) will remain unchanged.
In the general commodities market, the opening time for the gold market will be pushed back by one hour, and the closing time will remain 3:30 p.m. KSM (KRX Startup Market) trading hours will also be delayed by one hour in line with the securities market, opening at 10 a.m. and closing at 4:30 p.m. Trading hours for the oil market (10 a.m.–5 p.m.) and the emissions market (10 a.m.–noon) will be unchanged.
Alternative trading system NEXTRADE (NXT) will not operate a pre-market on the test day. The main market, its regular session, will shift from 9 a.m.–3:20 p.m. to 10 a.m.–4:20 p.m., and the after-market will have only its opening time adjusted to 4:30 p.m., with the closing time (8 p.m.) unchanged.
For the block/basket trading market, the start time will be delayed by two hours from the usual schedule to 10 a.m., and the closing time will remain 6 p.m.
